    As a frame  of reference, Ghana is slightly smaller than the U.S. state of Oregon. It has a tropical climate along the southeast coast, a hot and humid climate in the southwest and a hot and dry climate in the north. The geographic landscape consists mostly of low plains with dissected plateau in the south-central area. Ghana also hosts the largest man made lake in the world, Lake Volta. Despite an economy that relies heavily upon agriculuture, Ghana has only 17.54% arable land.
